Summerhouse Methode Blanc de Blancs 2010

02-May-2014
Having acquired the ‘Summerhouse’ brand, Marlborough producer Spring Creek Vintners began releasing a series of smart and sophisticated wines under that label at the start of this year (click here to see my reviews of the 2012 Chardonnay and oaked Sauvignon Blanc). The wines have been in the works for some time, with winemaker Michael Bann and the Spring Creek Vintners team giving a lot of thought into the style of premium quality, limited release expressions. The signature wines of ‘Summerhouse’ are Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and a Methode Blanc de Blancs. The specialty wines are barrel-fermented Chardonnay and ‘Monarch’ Sauvignon Blanc, a Verdelho and Syrah. Having a proven track record with the wines made to date, the ‘Summerhouse’ wines look to add even greater interest to the company’s portfolio. Here I review the new release Methode Traditionnelle. www.summerhouse.co.nz
