TerraVin and All That Jazz Pinot Noir 2011

23-Jul-2014
There’s been a change of guard at TerraVin in Marlborough over the past year or so. Viticultural guru Mike Eaton who established the vineyards has now moved to other interests, and Trish Grammer has become the new general manager. What remains the same are the prime vineyard sources and winemaking skills of Gordon Ritchie. During Gordon’s last visit to Wellington, he discussed the direction that TerraVin was taking with the production of Pinot Noir, ceasing the ‘Reserve’ label and putting forward the single vineyard expressions from which the TerraVin fruit is sourced. What will continue to be the mainstay is the ‘estate’ label which is a blend of the different sites and the secondary ‘All That Jazz’ label which is made when possible. Here, I review the 2011 ‘All That Jazz’ and ‘estate’ labels again as an assessment of how they have developed with a further two years of bottle age. www.terravin.co.nz
