The Terrace Edge New Releases

09-May-2011
Though the Muddy Water winery has been sold, the Terrace Edge wines are still being made there. Greystone Wines, the purchaser has inherited the Muddy Water winery, which has had to be expanded to process the fruit from both the Greystone and Muddy Water vineyards. The existing arrangements have continued, with Peter Chapman of Terrace Edge now working with Dom Maxwell instead of Belinda Gould. One can expect in the least instance the style of the Terrace Edge wines to continue as they have, reflecting the health of the vines from the meticulous care that Peter Chapman and Mark Tarr take in the Terrace Edge vineyards. A tasting of the new releases from Terrace Edge show that there is a continuing movement up in quality, suggesting that the vines are coming into even better balance or that vine maturity may be beginning to show. This is especially apparent in the red wines. www.terraceedge.co.nz
