Tiki Estate Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

25-Feb-2014
The Tiki wine brand is growing in stature with each passing vintage. Royce and Sue McKean’s team with viticulturist James Nightingale and winemaker Evan Ward are crafting a greater range of more interesting wines as the vines gain in maturity, and the sales team are gaining in market penetration. The expressions of Pinot Noir are particularly fascinating to follow. There were two ‘Koro’ flagship Central Otago Pinot Noirs in 2012, one a Gibbston and Bendigo blend (click here to see my review), and the other a Wanaka wine (click here for my review). However, the mainstay is the ‘Estate’ Pinot Noir, made from the company’s ‘Rewa’ vineyard in the Upper Wairau Valley. Here is my review of the new 2013 release. www.tikiwine.com
