Tiki Estate Waipara Pinot Gris 2013

28-Aug-2013
The Waipara Valley vineyards constituted the initial foray for Royce and Sue McKean into the New Zealand wine industry upon their return to the home country. The ‘Waiata’ vineyard is based on the districts gravel soils and bound by the Teviotdale Hills. The land and vines here, as are all of Tiki’s plantings, are managed according to the Maori principles of ‘kaitikitanga’, meaning guardianship, protection and preservation of the earth and the vineyards are certified sustainable. The quality of the fruit is proven, as previous vintages of wines have been highly awarded. Here, I review the new 2013 Waipara Pinot Gris. www.tikiwine.com
