Tiki Single Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

22-Nov-2013
The Pinot Gris variety has been a very successful one for the Tiki Wine and Vineyards team, whether made from the company’s fruit grown in the Waipara Valley in Canterbury or the Wairau Alpine Valley district of Marlborough. It seems that viticulturist James Nightingale and winemaker Evan Ward have an affinity for the grape. I’ve enjoyed expressions from both areas, and the latest 2013 releases from the ‘Waiata’ vineyard in Waipara particularly impressive (click here to see my review). Just released is the ‘Single Vineyard’ bottling from Marlborough fruit. As with the Waipara wine, it should become even more expressive with some time in bottle. Here is my review of the wine. www.tikiwine.com
