Tohu 2012 Rewa Blanc de Blanc and Blanc de Noir Methode

13-May-2015
In 2011 Tohu released the first of their sparkling wines, the ‘Rewa’ Blanc de Blanc Methode Traditionnelle from the 2009 Marlborough vintage. In 2013, the second release from the 2011 vintage also a Blanc de Blanc was released. The wines have made an auspicious start to the Tohu sparkling wine programme. The 2009 received 12 months on lees and the 2011 given 20 months, the increase showing the intention to build in greater autolytic complexities. Tohu have now made their third release of sparkling wines with a Blanc de Noir to complement the Blanc de Blanc, the two wines from the 2012 vintage. The Blanc de Blanc has an extended 23 months lees contact, while the Blanc de Noir has 20 months. I review the wines here. www.tohuwines.co.nz
