Tongue in Groove 2013 Riesling, and Waipara and Clayvin Pinot Noir

13-Apr-2015
The ‘Tongue in Groove’ wine venture has a funky image, but it has all the credentials to succeed in a busy marketplace. Comprising a syndicate of six friends who shared the common past of attending Roseworthy College, the shareholders include marketing specialist Angela Clifford and winemaker Lynnette Hudson. The range of wines is centred on Riesling and Pinot Noir, first vintaged in 2011 from Waipara Valley fruit. With the 2012 wines, a Marlborough Pinot Noir, the fruit from the highly regarded ‘Clayvin’ vineyard, was introduced. Here, I review the 2013 vintage releases, these being a Waipara Riesling and Pinot Noir, and a ‘Clayvin’ Marlborough Pinot Noir. www.tongueingroove.co.nz
