Trinity Hill 2013 ‘Black Label’ White and Red Releases

14-Jan-2015
The 2013 vintage Trinity Hill ‘Black Label’ releases come at a time of consolidation and growth of the company. The wines that are being released this year will show the step up in quality, style expansion and potential for future development, these being factors that attracted the investment of American wine business owner Charles Banks in Trinity Hill in 2014. In June last year, I reviewed a selection of 2013 ‘White Label’ wines which gave an indication of what I could expect at the higher levels from this outstanding growing season (click here to see). This selection of ‘Black Label’ Gimblett Gravels wines not only has the traditional Hawke’s Bay successes of Chardonnay, Syrah and Bordeaux varietals, but also a new and innovative Rhone blended white and a further release of the Spanish Tempranillo variety which Trinity Hill is a leader in handling in this country. All of the wines show richness and harmony, and the reds in particular a deceptive approachability. They will provide delicious drinking for many years, showing this is special release for Trinity Hill. www.trinityhill.com
