Trinity Hills Hawke’s Bay 2011 Pinot Gris and Noir

30-Mar-2012

Trinity Hill's Gimblett Gravels wines are among the style and quality leaders of Hawke's Bay. Their successes with the Bordeaux varietals, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier are enviable and a testament to their faith in that special district. However, John Hancock and Warren Gibson see a much wider picture of Hawke's Bay and Trinity Hill's place in it, with the cooler sub-regions offering the ability to make excellent wines with the aromatic white varieties and lighter reds such as Pinot Noir. The coastal Haumoana area, the hills to the south of the Heretaunga Plains and Central Hawke's Bay are becoming increasingly regarded as quality growing areas for such varieties and wine styles. These two 2011 Hawke's Bay offerings show why. www.trinityhill.com
