Vynfields 2014 Pinot Rosé and Classic Riesling

13-Nov-2014
Vynfields have two options when it comes to the rosé and Riesling bottlings. The dry expressions are food friendly and show fruit purity, and regarded by purists and enthusiasts as the more archetypical wine, but there’s no doubting the commercial popularity gained by a little sweetness. Residual sugar can mask imperfections, so a winemaker must take more care to attain balance and clarity of varietal character. New owners Harry and Zinder Guo continue founders John Bell and Kaye McAulay’s preference for both dry and off-dry releases for their rosé and Riesling. The new 2014 releases, made by Marion Deimling at Schubert Wines, make their debut at Toast Martinborough. I review the wines here. www.vynfields.com
