Bohemian Te Awanga Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 03-Oct-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, the nose has bold, ripe citrus and stonefruit aromas with subtle nutty oak notes and some buttery MLF nuances. Full-bodied, this has a broad-flavoured and generous palate of mild, ripe citrussy fruit with balanced nutty oak and subtle hints of caramel and cream. The wine is open and accessible, with soft textures and moderate acidity, leading to a nutty, dry finish with some oxidative complexities. Mendoza and clone 15 fruit from 15 y.o. vine from the ‘Te Awanga Estate' vineyard fermented to 14.3% alc. and aged 8 months in 20% new French oak, with 30% MLF. A forward wine with soft, open flavours to serve with poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 16.5/20 Oct 2011 RRP $23.95
