Brick Bay Matakana Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 20-Nov-2014
Brilliant, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is soft and full with fresh white stonefruit aromas, white florals and chalky minerals. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, gently luscious white floral and stonefruit flavours form a soft core. The wine has a rounded richness and unctuous suggestions, and flows smoothly. Mineral nuances unfold in the glass. Fresh, lacy, discreet acidity guides the palate along a line of very fine phenolics, leading to a dry, chalky finish. This is a soft textured, gently rich, off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and chalky flavours. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 3+ years. Fruit from two blocks, vinified separately, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.2% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $34.00
