Clearview ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Mar-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is light and finely concentrated with subtle aromas of white stonefruits melded with a delicate layer of fresh green stonefruits and herbs, unfolding saline notes along with nutty lees and mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a tightly concentrated core of white and green stonefruits entwined with herb, mineral and saline nuances. The palate is fresh with gentle acidity and flows along a fine, textural line leading to a light, lingering finish of herbs, stonefruits and minerals. This is a tight and elegantly presented oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with subtle stonefruit, herb and nutty flavours on a fine-textured palate. Match with seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 3+ years. Te Awanga fruit indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 12.6% alc. and 0.9 g/L RS, the wine aged 11 months in seasoned oak undergoing batonnage and MLF. 17.5/20 Mar 2017 RRP $28.00
