Craggy Range ‘Gimblett Gravels Vineyard’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Nov-2013
Very pale, ‘eye of the partridge’ pink with a faint purple-pink blush on edge. This has a very delicate, subtle nose with refreshing aromas of stonefruits, red berry fruits, a suggestion of red florals and thirst-quenching minerals. Very dry to taste, the palate features a dry, mouthwatering, textural mouthfeel and line that unfolds subtle flavours of red berry fruits and florals. The wine flows softly, enlivened by crisp, lacy, underlying acidity that provides a lusciousness to balance the dryness. The palate leads to a moderately long, fine-textured, fresh finish. This is a subtle-fruited, dry, mouthwatering rosé with sufficient fine textures to match a variety of food over the next 2-3 years. 86% Merlot and 14% Syrah from the ‘Gimblett Gravels’ vineyard, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned French oak barriques to 13.02% alc. and dryness. 17.5/20 Nov 2013 RRP $29.95
