Flying Sheep Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 09-Jun-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The bouquet is soft and light with gentle aromas of yellow stonefruits along with subtle flint and mineral lees-like elements, lifted with floral nuances. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has soft, up-front yellow stonefruit flavours enhanced by delicate mineral, floral and honeysuckle notes. This has good presence and mouthfeel, the wine soft-textured with a suggestion of unctuousness. Some alcohol power and phenolic emerge, providing a firm core that carries through to an open, dry-textured finish with light stonefruit elements. This is an up-front, soft and dry Pinot Gris with good weight and a dry finish. Serve with seafood and tapas over the next 2-3 years. 100% Pinot Gris cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 15.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $28.00
