Ka Tahi East Coast Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 16-Jun-2016
Light straw-yellow colour with some blush hues, lighter on edge. This has a very tightly bound nose with good intensity of yellow stonefruit aromas entwined with subtle exotic floral fragrances and hints of spice and honeysuckle, unfolding suggestions of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses luscious and lively, but tightly held and reserved flavours of yellow stonefruits melded with delicate savoury nutty and honeysuckle notes. The mouthfeel is softly textured and has a degree of unctuousness, with soft and integrated acidity lending roundness. This has good energy, and the wine leads to a dry, light-textured finish. This is a lively, but light flavoured dry Pinot Gris with some richness and a textural finish. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Fruit from Gisborne, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.1% alcohol, the wine aged 6 weeks on lees with batonnage. 16.5+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $14.99
