Karikari Estate Karikari Peninsula Pinotage 2008

Pinotage from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 16-Feb-2011
Pinotage may be the special variety of the Northland region. Karikari Estate fruit, fermented to 13.9% alc., this has a full, dense, purple hued ruby-red colour and a powerful, dense, slightly spirity nose packed with spicy blackberry fruits, savoury red meats, and toasty oak lifted with some trademark varietal volatility and acetate. A wine with power, richness, depth and concentration, lusciously ripe black fruit flavours are matched by toasty, charry oak. The wine is truly mouthfilling and will be ‘over the top' for many. Fine-grained tannins and soft acidity support the fruit. This will be a spectacular wine to serve with Middle Eastern fare and game meat over the next 7-10 years. 19.0-/20 Feb 2011 RRP $35.00
