Kidnapper Cliffs ‘Solan’ Hawke’s Bay 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Nov-2011
87% Sauvignon Blanc from ‘Zone 3' with 13% Semillon sourced off-site, 50% barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months on lees, 50% in oak, the other 50% in tank. No MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with a pale edge. Elegant and very fine featured on bouquet, this shows aromas of nettles, herbs, minerals and subtle flint notes. Dry to taste, this is very refined and tightly concentrated in presentation, with gentle flavours of ripe stonefruits and fresh herbs. Excellent tension and vibrancy from bright acidity supports the fruit core, and the palate has a long, sustained finish with sweet fruit notes, underlined by very fine textures. A refined and focussed wine with energy and subtlety to match with antipasto and tapas over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0+/20 Nov 2011 RRP $35.00
