Lil Rippa ‘Ngatarawa’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Jul-2011
Clone 15 and Mendoza fruit from the Ngatarawa region of Hawke's Bay, fermented to 13.5% alc., without oak contact, aged on lees 9 months. Bright lemon straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a full, fresh nose of ripe citrus fruits, nectarines and tropical fruit, with a touch of flintiness, good ripeness, depth and generosity. Dry to taste, this has attractive, up-front and uncomplicated yellow stonefruit and citrusy flavours with good body and weight. The palate has mouthwatering acidity and provides good liveliness, but finishes softly and with some length. Serve this flavoursome unoaked Chardonnay with antipasto, most seafood and poultry dishes as well as creamy cheeses over the next 2-3+ years. 17.5/20 Jul 2011 RRP $15.99
