Mission Hawke’s Bay Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 29-May-2017
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is very elegant and refined, with tightly bound and finely concentrated aromas of lime fruit along with subtle notes of toast and minerals, the nose showing the beginnings of complexing secondary interest. The detailing is soft and attractive. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a finely concentrated core of lime fruit along with white florals and subtle complexing notes of minerals and toast. The palate has positive linearity and drive, and flows along a soft-textured, fine line with fresh, lacy acidity enhancing the energy. The wine carries to a refined, lingering, elegant finish of lime, waxy nuances, toast and minerals. This is a finely concentrated medium-dry Riesling with a good linear core and flavours of limes, florals and subtle complexing mineral and toasty notes. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from a single site on Ohiti Road, cool-fermented to 11.8% alc. and 14 g/L RS, with TA 6.6 g/L. 17.5+/20 May 2017 RRP $16.50
