Osawa ‘Flying Sheep’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
100% Pinot Gris given skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.04% alc. and 0.9 g/L RS. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush and some depth, lighter on rim. The nose is tightly concentrated with deep aromas of white stonefruits melded with flinty and mineral lees elements, unfolding subtle floral and nutty notes. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, this is slender in presentation with delicately sweet and luscious flavours of white stonefruits. The fruit richness forms a soft core and line, and the wine is balanced in mouthfeel, texture and liveliness with soft, underlying acidity. The palate carries to a gentle finish of flinty lees and mineral nuances. This is an elegant and delicately luscious dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruits and subtle lees detail. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $28.00
