Stone Bridge ‘Melange’ Gisborne 2013

Blended White from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 27-Mar-2014
80% Pinot Gris and 20% Gewurztraminer, the latter WBP, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 8.3 g/L RS. Bright, blushed salmon-pink colour, pale on rim. The nose is softly fresh with light aromas of peaches with subtle red berry fruit nuances and a little oxidative nuttiness. Off-dry to taste and medium-light bodied, tightly bound and delicate flavours of yellow stonefruits form a moderately deep core and palate line. Red floral and spice nuances become revealed. Slight phenolic textures feature in mouthfeel, and the flavours lead to a dry, fine-grained finish with nutty elements. This is an intriguing off-dry white with light fruit and oxidative notes in the Pinot Grigio style. Serve with antipasto and poultry over the next 2-3 years. 16.0/20 Mar 2014 RRP $20.00
