TW Gisborne Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 21-Mar-2016
Moderately deep golden-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. This has a full.and up-front bouquet of ripe yellow stonefruits, apricots and layers of honeysuckle, yellow florals, soft musk notes and suggestions of savoury flint. This has depth with concentration. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the flavours of apricots and yellow stonefruits are entwined with nuances of flint, musk and honeysuckle, forming a rounded mouthfeel. The acidity is balanced and the palate shows some dry phenolic textures and grip which carries through to a grainy-textured finish driven by some alcoholic power. This is a fulsome, mature, dry Pinot Gris with apricot and honied flavours and a grainy-textured finish. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 2-3 years. Pinot Gris fruit given a brief period of skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 0.78 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Mar 2016 RRP $22.00
