Wrights Gisborne Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 08-Jun-2015
Full, light straw-yellow colour with some depth, a little pale edged. The nose is soft and gently full with stylishly focussed stonefruit and tropical fruit aromas at the core, unfolding delicate nutty elements and savoury, earthy nuances in the glass. Medium-full bodied, light savoury stonefruit and nutty flavours show with sweetness and succulence. The palate has good presence and vinosity, and is enlivened by fresh and lacy acidity. The nutty, oxidative, and earthy detail adds interest and carries to a moderately concentrated, sustained finish. This is a light flavoured Chardonnay with sweetness and presence of stonefruit and nutty flavours. Serve with most white meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from old vines in the ‘Valley’ vineyard, Ormond, WBP, and barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 2 y.o. oak, with MLF. Certified AsureQuality organic. 16.5+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $28.00
